Li Keqiang pointed out that China has entered the ranks of middle-income countries, but its development is still very uneven. In particular, the gap between urban and rural areas is large and wide. The gap is potential. The biggest development potential in the next few decades lies in urbanization. To promote urbanization, we should take the road of simultaneous development of industrialization, informatization, urbanization and agricultural modernization. To ensure food security, China's grain should be based on itself, and it is impossible to rely on the world market to solve the problem. We should pay more attention to green development, strengthen environmental protection and energy conservation, deepen reform, strengthen social construction, and promote the improvement of basic public services. All these require an international perspective and world experience, which will help us successfully overcome the middle-income trap. China is willing to carry out joint research with the World Bank on urbanization, involving universities and research institutions, and making it a "flagship" project for bilateral cooperation. The modernization of 1.3 billion people and the urbanization of nearly 1 billion people are unprecedented in human history. China's success in this road will not only benefit the Chinese people, but also contribute to the world.
Jin Yong very much agreed with Vice Premier Li's proposal, saying that China's urbanization process will provide the world with a huge market and valuable experience. The World Bank is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in this regard, which will enrich the World Bank's development philosophy and do a good job in poverty reduction. And development assistance is of great significance.
